The 2 are really unrelated.
I cooked Spaghetti & Meatballs today, a Jamie Oliver recipe that’s easy to do. You can find it HERE.
The meatballs weren’t really meatballs though. The recipe calls for it to be easily squeezed out from sausages (that you can buy), into little balls. It’s approximately 1 sausage for 3 meatballs (but mine produced alot more ‘meatballs’). I used some bratswurst sausages from the supermarket, but didn’t manage to squeeze them into balls. Hmm, no matter.
Didn’t use balsamic vinegar either, cause…I’m on a budget. I used a tad bit of sugar instead to sweeten the sauce. Seasoned with salt and black pepper. Also made the sauce thicker (than what the original recipe) seems like just because.
I’ve decided I’m going to try to cook something at least once a week. It’s to train me for independent living. Also, here’s some other words of wisdom.
That’s what they say, and that’s what I’m trying to do. Just taking pictures of my best model Rudi in one of his sleeping spots, random dusty decorative items around the house, my dinner, and of course, outfit shots.
I am actually planning to either sell / give away this pair of shoes along with its cousin in black. It’s rarely worn and to be quite honest, is a tad too small for me- I wear a size 37, and I think this should fit a size 36 better.
I predict more wear coming from the mesh top I’m wearing. It’s so comfortable. Best be getting to bed now, early day tomorrow!
Nothing much going on these days outfitwise. I’ve taken to the principle of less is more as a way to cope with the increase in temperatures. My aim is to minmise discomfort arising from humidity. The weather is much too hot to think about anything else.
I wanted to buy lace tights from Topshop but I refuse to pay SGD29 for tights, it’s just too ridiculous. Bleaugh.
Some more random shots using my dear friend’s Canon that I’ve been using to sate my camera-deprived self (THANKS!)
Happy CNY Countdown to you, from Rudi and I!
Things to Do:
1. Get ringzzz and bracelets
2. Fix vintage sunglasses
3. Bring thrifted red gown to seamstress to be CUT CUT CUT- low back vs high slit?
Today was a good day in alot of ways. I had lunch with the girlfriends (hello, girlfriends!) at Shokudo and ordered the Mushroom Beef (Beef Mushroom?) burger. It was goooooood. The beef patty was thick and succulent.
A meeting and a work out later, I met up with the best friend to have dinner at KOP. Boy, was it packed with the TGIF (post work-week) crowd. Nonetheless, the ALL-DAY BREAKFAST made me excited. ‘The Works’- one thick slice of buttered toasted bread, one juicy grilled (I think) tomato, one small rostti, bacon and sunny side up eggs later, I was one UBER sated person.
But sorry, no pictures cause my phone ran out of batt.
Then we decided to take a walk. After resisting bling temptation at Forever 21, we went into Zara which was having its SALE! As usual, my eyes were stuck to the shoes, all the way to the shoe sale section, where lo and behold, I spotted my sexy curved heel Zara shoes I was obsessing over and desiring for CNY (which I could not afford the past 436956 times I went into Zara).
But guess what?
This time it was on sale! SGD99 from its original price of SGD200+; do the math, that’s more than 50% off!
A quick check on my bank account balance and I zoomed to the counter. These babies are now mine.
Does a Happy Dance. Cuddles them.
Here are the photos, outfit shot thrown in. And 2 of my favouritest things (living or otherwise) in the world- Rudi and Shoes! Maybe I should rename my blog to Rudi and Shoes.
Bad News: Lost a pendant given to me as gift. I was gonna get a new necklace for it too. Grr.
I like the contrast of the sweet dress with the kickass gladiators. The back is bare, but didn’t have time to shoot the back. Tossed the cardigan on in school for decency sake.
Someone far more adept at assembling bits&pieces together to form a fantastical shoe-wheel together came by today to assist the basically assembly-retarded person that is me.
I can’t tell you if it’s easy to assemble because erm, for the most part, I watched. But it took about 45min-ish to assemble? And at the end of it, a beautiful product was formed- my shoe wheel!
Mucho thanks to those who contributed for this much loved and much needed gift!
In the process, I think I shocked the Handyman with the amount of shoes that I’ve amassed. To be honest, I actually felt surprised too- I didn’t realise that 35 pairs is really quite a substantial amount…when you lay it all out.
And my lovely Pink Shoes (thanks to some girlsinpinafores)!
Most of my shoes (80%) went into this lovely, rotating shoe wheel!
It’s not as neat as what the picture on the box shows, but <3!
At this point, I would also like to show you why my dog is supremely photogenic.
Really, really, ridiculously good-looking.
